As any mountain runner knows, weather in the mountains can change in an instant. One moment you're exposed to harsh sun; the next, clouds roll in and it suddenly turns cold — and vice versa.
The WOOL LIGHT HOODIE is made for exactly these shifts. It's a very thin hoodie with a high wool content, so it doesn't feel hot even under strong sun — in fact, by blocking the sun's rays, it can actually make you feel cooler. And when the air turns chilly, the natural crimp of the wool traps air to keep temperature and humidity at a comfortable level.
The combination of high wool content and fine yarn gives the fabric a supple, soft hand. A hood that fully covers your head and extra-long sleeves with thumbholes gently wrap and protect exposed skin.

High Wool Content Without Sacrificing Quick-Drying Performance
The WOOL LIGHT HOODIE is knit from "AXIO LITE," a 1/72 single yarn blended from 84% wool and 16% polyester. It has one of the highest wool ratios in the NIKKE AXIO®︎ range, which gives it excellent odor resistance — yet because the fabric is so thin, it still dries quickly.
Thanks to the fine yarn, the fabric is remarkably smooth. You can layer it over a base layer, but it feels so good against the skin that you'll probably want to wear it on its own.

NIKKE AXIO®︎ Made with Recycled Polyester
Even before HERENESS launched, we had our eye on the performance of NIKKE AXIO®︎ and were considering it for our products. At the time, however, NIKKE AXIO®︎ was only available with virgin polyester, so we had to set the idea aside. We kept asking for the filament to be switched to recycled polyester, and with NIKKE's cooperation, we are finally able to use NIKKE AXIO®︎ made with recycled materials. We plan to keep expanding our lineup of wool × recycled polyester products using NIKKE AXIO®︎.
Choosing Non-Mulesed Merino Wool
Wool is a gift from sheep. If those sheep were suffering, could we truly accept that gift with joy? All the wool we use in our T-shirts and socks is New Zealand merino. New Zealand has banned mulesing (the practice of cutting away skin from a sheep's hindquarters) nationwide. As a brand that works with wool, we remain committed to addressing animal welfare issues.
