Tenugui, a cloth deeply rooted in Japanese life, is becoming more common in daily use, especially with the recent popularity of sento (public baths). It’s lightweight, dries quickly, and comes in various designs, making it a versatile item that’s also popular as a souvenir from mountain lodges.

At HERENESS, we’ve long wanted to create our own original tenugui, and we’re excited to finally make that a reality. We’ve chosen a fabric called "oka," made from 30-count cotton thread, which is finer and densely woven. This gives it a firm texture that beautifully reproduces designs. Enjoy the way it becomes more supple with use!
