Bartender Soran Nomura modelled HERENESS' everyday wear, the " UNDERCURRENT JACKET〉 and 〈UNDERCURRENT PANTS〉, and Yumi Ikeno, who moddeled running wear, the 〈AIRLY COTTON T-SHIRT〉and 〈AIRLY COTTON TANK〉are both usually based in the west side of Tokyo, but have a close connection with the Asakusa and Kuramae neighbourhoods. Nakamise Street, Senso-ji 

Senso-ji is named after the benevolent Kannon (Goddess of Mercy), who was pulled out of the Sumida River by fishermen. Many people visit the temple to seek its blessings, but it has recently become especially busy with tourists from all over the world. For this reason, we recommend visiting Senso-ji in the morning. In the daytime, Nakamise Street is crowded, but you can see the true face of this city early in the morning.

FUGLEN ASAKUSA

After a morning stroll along Nakamise Street, Soran and Yumi arrived at 〈FUGLEN ASAKUSA〉. It opens from 8am, so fill up on speciality coffee and Norwegian-style waffles. In fact, Yumi used to work at 〈FUGLEN〉 in Tomigaya. We had a lot of fun chatting with the staff at the shop about the old days.

Tokyo Riverside Distillery

A short walk from Asakusa takes you to the 〈Tokyo Riverside Distillery〉 in the Kuramae area. This distillery is run by Ethical Spirits, which produces craft gin and other products using under-utilised ingredients. At the counter facing the sidewalk, you can smell the gin and find the flavour you like. The inside of the distillery, which we were shown exeptionally, was filled with a rich herbal fragrance.

NOMURA SHOTEN

The last stop is at Soran's NOMURA SHOTEN in Misuji. This is a place where you can enjoy the encounter with sake carefully selected through the eyes of Soran, who has seen the world. Sake, wine, craft beer, spirits and other genres of alcoholic beverages are all lined up in a curiously unified manner. Yumi was interested in Niida Honke's Shizen Shu Junmai Genshu Barrel Stored Sake, which was recommended by Soran. Here you can enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime encounter with rare sake.
